Heroines of Springfield: Stories and Songs - March 21
Songs and stories of the unsung heroines of Springfield will be featured at a joint program of the Springfield Choral Society and Sangamon County Historical Society. Ensembles from the Choral Society and actresses from the Historical Society will portray unsung heroines from Springfield. Narratives of heroines will be interwoven with thematically related works by female composers. Those portrayed include Carrie Post, Gertrude Wright Morgan, Ruth Ellis, Mary Ann Yezdauskas, Nellie Brown Duff and Mother Mary Joseph Woulfe.
