From Vienna to Springfield: A Former Austrian Central Bank VP and Member of Parliament on Money, Bitcoin, and Freedom - April 10
Bitcoin. The digital dollar. Central bank digital currencies. Inflation. Interest rates. Everyone has an opinion on what is happening to money right now, but very few people actually understand it.
On April 10, UIS Innovate Springfield and the UIS College of Business and Management are bringing someone who does. Dr. Barbara Kolm is the Founding Director of the Austrian Economics Center, the number one independent think tank in Austria and 21st in the world, President of the F.A. von Hayek Institute in Vienna, and a former Vice President of the Austrian Central Bank. She founded the Free Market Road Show, an annual conference series that now reaches more than 40 countries, holds a seat in the Austrian National Council, and is a Professor of Austrian Economics at the University of Donja Gorica in Montenegro. She is coming to Springfield to explain what is really going on and what it means for everyday people, business owners, and anyone thinking about their financial future.
Her talk is called “Freedom, Decentralized: From The Wealth of Nations to Bitcoin.” She will be joined by Dr. Per Bylund, entrepreneurship professor and Senior Fellow at the Mises Institute, for a full morning of conversation on economics, markets, and what it takes to build real value. It is free to attend and open to everyone.
You will leave with a clearer way to think about digital currency, financial freedom, and where the global economy is heading.
