Dr. Dee Stern's book explores the ways people experience communication with those who have passed.

Dr. Dee Stern is a licensed counselor and expert in bereavement. She has a doctorate in psychology and a master’s degree in psychology and pastoral studies. She spoke to Community Voices about her book “Signs or Coincidences: What are the Deceased Trying to Tell Us?” In the interview she explains the research she conducted and gives advice on how to talk to the bereaved.

Vanessa was the Community Voices Production Coordinator at NPR Illinois from 2021-2025. She continues her passion for broadcasting as a co-host of the Beyond the Mouse podcast for the Front Row Network.
