Friday is the last day SIU Medicine offered COVID-19 testing in the parking lot of the Sangamon County Department of Public Health.
The healthcare organization is moving testing to Abundant Faith Christian Center, 2525 Taylor Ave, starting Tuesday. Screening will available to anyone – regardless of symptoms – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The site will be closed Wednesdays.
On Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon, SIU Medicine will operate a mobile testing operation that will travel to different congregations. It will be at Calvary Baptist Church, 2208 E. Kansas St. on September 11; Union Baptist Church, 1405 E. Monroe St., on September 18; and Progressive Church of God in Christ, 1625 E. Ash St. on September 25.
“As the seasons change and we prepare for colder temperatures, we are pleased to be moving the testing center to Abundant Faith Christian Center to continue to serve this critical health care mission in Springfield,” said Dr. Jerry Kruse, dean and provost of SIU School of Medicine.
More information is on SIU Medicine’s website.
