Former vice president Joe Biden will be making a stop in central Illinois this summer, speaking to Democrats before the State Fair in Springfield.

Biden will deliver a keynote address at a party brunch August 16th prior to the annual Democratic rally at the fairgrounds.

A news release says Biden will appear with the party's nominee for governor, J-B Pritzker, along with other high ranking Democrats like Senator Dick Durbin.

Biden's return to Springfield comes ten years after he was announced as Barack Obama's running mate during an event at the Old State Capitol.

Biden has been rumored to be considering his own presidential bid in 2020.
