State Week: Dems Look To 2018

The eyes of the nation were on Philadelphia this week as Hilary Clinton claimed the Democratic nomination for president. But among members of the Illinois delegation, a lot of eyes were looking back home, to the 2018 campaign for governor.

Brian Mackey hosts with regular panelist Amanda VinickyKent Redfield, a retired political scientist at the University of Illinois Springfield; and Paris Schutz, with the program Chicago Tonight, which airs on Chicago PBS station WTTW.

Brian Mackey formerly reported on state government and politics for NPR Illinois and a dozen other public radio stations across the state. Before that, he was A&E editor at The State Journal-Register and Statehouse bureau chief for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
Amanda Vinicky moved to Chicago Tonight on WTTW-TV PBS in 2017.
