The Illinois General Assembly ended its spring legislative session last weekend, passing what some are calling the most productive session in a generation.

Whether Illinoisans view that productivity as a net positive depends on the individual and the issue. Among the many bills to pass in the final eight days of session are ones to legalize marijuana; expand gambling and legalize sports betting; and reapir $45 billion worth of roads, bridges and state buildings.

Sean Crawford hosts with regular panelists Charlie Wheeler and Brian Mackey. This week’s guests are Jaclyn Driscoll, who's been covering marijuana legalization for NPR Illinois, and Tina Sfondeles of The Chicago Sun-Times.

Brian Mackey formerly reported on state government and politics for NPR Illinois and a dozen other public radio stations across the state. Before that, he was A&E editor at The State Journal-Register and Statehouse bureau chief for the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
