Donald Trump used a campaign stop in Springfield Monday to further stir up controversy over what Starbucks is serving its java in.
It seems that Starbuck's new, ombre red holiday cups aren't Trump's cup of tea (or of coffee, as the case may be).
Some Christians are upset with the cups' new design, which doesn't feature reindeer or ornaments, like in years' past; they view it as a sign the chain is removing Christmas.
"Did you read about Starbucks? No more Merry Christmas on Starbucks. No more," he said, prompting a loud chorus of booing from the crowd of more than 10,000 people at Springfield's convention center.
Trump told them Starbucks leases a successful store in his Trump Tower, but "maybe we should boycott Starbucks. Seriously. I don't care. By the way, that's the end of that lease. But who cares."
People cheered when Trump went on to say that if he becomes President "we're all going to be saying Merry Christmas again. That I can tell you. That I can tell you."
After the event, a woman with a Trump sign walked by a Starbucks just across the street from the rally. I'm never going there again, she said.
