Road Closings For Springfield's Route 66 Mother Road Festival

The City of Springfield Office of Public Works has announced that due to the International Route 66 Mother Road Festival, the following areas will be closed to traffic starting at 12-noon on Friday, September 23:

• 5^th Street between Jefferson Street and Capitol Avenue;
• 6^th Street between Capitol Avenue and Jefferson Street;
• Washington Street between 4^th and 7^th Streets;
• Adams Street between 4^th and 5^th Streets;
• Adams Street between 6^th Street and 7^th Streets;
• Monroe Street between 4^th and 7^th Streets;
• Capitol Avenue between 4^th and 7^th Streets.

Starting 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23, the following additional streets will be closed to traffic:

• 7^th Street between Jefferson Street and Capitol Avenue;
• 4^th Street between Jackson Street and Washington Street;
• Washington Street between 7^th Street and 9^th Street.

Starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 23, the International Route 66 Mother Road Festival cruise will start at the Capital City Shopping Center on Dirksen Parkway; proceed west on Stevenson Drive; and turn North on 6^th Street into the downtown area.
