Rep. Wojcicki Jimenez To Work For HSHS Central Illinois Division Hospitals

Illinois state Rep. Sara Wojcicki-Jimenez will join the HSHS Central Illinois Division Hospitals as director of marketing and communications in September. The Leland Grove Republican is slated to end her term representing the 99th District in January 2019.

E.J. Kuiper, president and CEO of the HSHS Central Illinois Division, said Jimenez comes with a "wealth of knowledge, leadership and experience" valuable to the Central Illinois Division team. "Her passion and dedication to central Illinois will certainly help us move HSHS forward in the communities we serve," he said in a press release.

Jimenez was appointed to the Illinois House in 2015 when she replaced former Representative Raymond Poe. She was elected to the seat in 2016.

In 2017, she was among the Republicans who defied Governor Bruce Rauner by voting with Democrats to pass the state's first budget in two years.

Prior to serving in the legislature, Jimenez served as chief of staff to first lady Diana Rauner. She was a spokeswoman for the treasurer’s office, House Republicans and the comptroller’s office. She also covered state government as a reporter for WICS in Springfield and KHQA in Quincy.

Daisy reported on statehouse issues for our Illinois Issues project. She's a Public Affairs Reporting program graduate from the University of Illinois Springfield. She also graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and has an associates degrees from Truman College. Daisy is from Chicago where she attended Lane Tech High School.
