Lucius, performing live on Mountain Stage.

Lucius returns to Mountain Stage, recorded live at the Culture Center Theater in Charleston, W.Va. As guest host Joni Deutsch says in her introduction, "This band might dress alike, but their sound is like nothing you've ever heard."

Led by singers Holly Laessig and Jess Wolfe, Lucius mixes eerily tight vocals with lush instrumentation for a sound that's won fans everywhere, from Seventeen magazine to Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman. The band's music mixes torchy, pedal-steel-infused Americana and slick pop, and adds a healthy nod to '60s girl groups along the way. Lucius has played Bonnaroo, the Newport Folk Festival, Lollapalooza and many other festivals, and it's shared the stage with the likes of Roger Waters, Mavis Staples, Jeff Tweedy, Sara Bareilles and David Byrne. Lucius' second album is titled Good Grief.
