Aug 30, 2019

The state's Legislature’s Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) recently voted on recommendations by the Illinois EPA and the Pollution Control Board to update the state’s water regulations for the first time since the 1980s.

Reporter Daisy Contreras spoke to Brad Considine who is with the Alliance to Prevent Legionnaires' Disease -- a non-profit based in Washington DC.

Considine said the new water guidelines will help the state improve how it deals with waterborne pathogens -- such as Legionnella.
