Jennifer Sublett, executive director of Girls on the Run of Central Illinois, joins Bea Bonner to discuss the service nonprofit and its role in improving the quality of life for area girls. Girls on the Run inspires all girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional, and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life.

Originally aired May 3, 2021.

Sublett is inspired meeting and training new coaches each season and seeing the girls' faces as they cross the finish line of the 5k. She finds it a blessing to interact daily with positive staff and volunteers and to work on a program with such positive outcomes.
