Join UIS Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology, Yona Stamatis in an interview/demonstration with:

  • Alastair Willis, Music Director of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra.
  • Sandeep Das, virtuoso tabla player (Grammy-nominated, member of Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble).
  • Dinuk Wijeratne, Sri-Lankan composer.

They will preview their  Illinois Symphony Orchestra? performance, "Concerto for Tabla and Orchestra," composed by Dinuk Wijeratne on Saturday, Oct 11, 7:30, at Sangamon Auditorium.
