Sean Crawford talks with State Journal-Register Business Editor Tim Landis.

This week:

* SMTD night service marks 10th year; more than 85,000 riders from July 2016 to June 2017; supporters say vital for night-shift workers; folks who don't have cars etc.; also working to boost numbers.

* Chamber EDC endorsement: Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce has endorsed the countywide economic development corporation "in concept." But no money committed; that's left up to individual companies and Springfield remains the big question mark. Mayor still less than enthused.

* Springfield’s mayor Jim Langfelder now says often delayed decision on development of former YWCA block will come by the end of the year, extending previous November deadline.

* Allegiant Air ending Springfield-Orlando service Jan. 2 after four years; Company says not enough passengers, although the newspaper talked to some who said flights were mostly full; still serving Punta Gorda Florida from Springfield. Airline also says it’s always possible flights will return.
