SJ-R.com

Sean Crawford talks with State Journal-Register Business Editor Tim Landis.

This week:

* Former MacArthur Park Apartments/now Boulevard Townhomes - Project nearing completion of $18 million overhaul. The new owners say current 25 percent occupancy should be closer to full by fall. Village of Jerome officials have some concerns about reopening of north entrance onto Iles Avenue.

* YWCA time capsule -  Document conservators gave a look at contents stored away for more than 100 years, items like newspapers, membership roles, YWCA histories, dedication programs etc.  Restoration will take months, but the long-term plan is to store them at the Sangamon Valley Collection.

* Downtown casino -  Developer Chris Stone acknowledges it's a long-shot, but he wants to get the idea out there.  Some of the tax proceeds could go toward needs like schools, fairground repairs, infrastructure and more.
