Bedrock 66 Live! presents Robbie Fulks and Linda Gail Lewis Sunday Night

Andy Goodwin

Bedrock 66 Live! and NPR Illinois present Bloodshot recording artists Robbie Fulks and Linda Gail Lewis Sunday, October 21 at 5 pm at Bar None in downtown Springfield. Tix are availablehere

The grammy nominated Fulks approached Lewis (sister and recording partner of rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis) about producing a record for her. Eventually the two settled on a duet record with mostly original songs that celebrate the early days of rock and roll titled Wild, Wild, Wild. Country, Blues, Soul and jumpin' rock and roll mesh seamlessly throughout the record just as they might have done in 1956. Listen below as Fulks explains the origins of this delightful partnership.

The record's special guests include Lewis’ son-in-law Danny B. Harvey, Redd Volkaert, and drummer/engineer Alex Hall (JD McPherson, Pokey LaFarge) who will also appear live backing Fulks on Sunday.

NPR

“ Linda Gail Lewis and Robbie Fulks have teamed up on a shrewd, witty album that’s a throwback to the earliest era of rock n’ roll- but it’s not pickled in nostalgia.”

Fulks spoke to SVRR host Sean Burns about the new record, Linda Gail's sizeable talents and the upcoming show.
