A Citizens Club of Springfield forum, Moving Towards Equity in Local Economic Access.

This program is the second in the Confronting Inequities in Springfield series, sponsored by the Citizens Club of Springfield in partnership with the University of Illinois Springfield. The goal of the series is to increase the public’s awareness of disparities that exist in our own backyard and to encourage discussion and action to create a more just and equitable community. The conversation includes local initiatives, as well as new state legislation, and plans to encourage economic empowerment and eliminate racial gaps.

Panelists:
Tiffany Hightower, executive director, Illinois Legislative Black Caucus Foundation (Facebook)
Gina Lathan, CEO, Lathan-Harris Inc./ Route History
Dominic Watson, president and CEO, Springfield Black Chamber of Commerce

Moderator:
Rikeesha Phelon, executive director, Office of Marketing, Communication, and Engagement SIU School of Medicine
