For the People Speaker Series: Jason Benetti

For the People Speaker Series: Jason Benetti

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is proud to welcome Chicago White Sox and FOX Sports broadcaster Jason Benetti to our “For the People” speaker series.

Resilience is a common theme of this year’s special exhibit, “Stories of Survival: Object. Image. Memory” and is a fitting word to describe Jason’s life.

Diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a toddler, Jason has never let barriers, whether physical or the perceptions of others, define who he is or stand in the way of realizing his goals.

Jason’s resilience was fully on display during his college years, as he balanced life on the air with sports play-by-play while earning degrees in broadcast journalism, economics, and psychology at Syracuse University and later a Juris Doctor from the Wake Forest School of Law.

That experience would open the door for network opportunities with ESPN and to ultimately fulfilling a childhood dream of becoming the lead announcer for his beloved Chicago White Sox.

Join us on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the museum’s Union Theater as Jason Benetti takes you through his life’s journey with a message of resilience in overcoming adversity and achieving success.
