Anna Fermin has been called "the voice of Chicago" by one writer. Greg Kot of The Chicago Tribune and Sound Opinions calls her: "One of Chicago's most treasured voices." One of her band's first shows was opening for none other than Johnny Cash! Her authentic mix of poetic lyrics, melodic hooks and Americana roots will be on display at the NPR Illinois Suggs Performance Studio Thursday night with members of her Trigger Gospel. They just released their first album in eight years, called You Belong Here. Here is a preview of the music and an interview with Anna:

The recorded concert will start around 6pm at the NPR Illinois station on the UIS Campus on Thursday, November 3rd. Go to the WUIS building, which is near Parking Lot B. Visitors can park in that lot. Look for the building with the antennae on top and you've arrived, the station is to the left as you come thru the entry. Here is a UIS campus map.
