Welcome to our second episode! We have an interview with science editor for The Guardian, James Kingsland. His new book is called: Siddhartha's Brain: Unlocking the Ancient Science of Enlightenment. He also has a blog about neuroscience and Buddhist psychology, called Plastic Brain

Kingsland says: "You don't need to be a religious person to meditate. You don't have to believe in a creator-god or subscribe to a creed to get the benefits of it." Tune in for that conversation and much more:

This episode also takes us the to the Illinois state fairgrounds in Springfield where we visited the 7th annual holistic fair there. There were crystals, tarot readings and aromatherapy oils galore; we bring you an audio postcard from the event. While there we spoke with Buddha Strouse who created a community in Peoria called The Indigo Way.

And we speak with friends of 40 years and artists Carol Bridges and Wendy Allen. Their art show in Springfield's artist co-op called The Pharmacy was named after a Rumi poem. It was a vibrant scene with symbology, sacred geometry and celebration of the "divine feminine." We also chat about the concept of sacred space and how to incorporate it into everyday life, no matter your beliefs.
