Warmer Fall, Wetter Winter In The Forecast

NWS

Warmer and wetter than normal.  That's the prediction for the upcoming months, according to the National Weather Service.

Jim Angel, Illinois State Climatologist, breaks down the long range forecast for us.

The NWS Climate Prediction Center says the fall has a better chance of being warmer than average.  But precipitation above normal is anticipated in the winter months.

"We know from past experience when we have a a La Nina, like they are expecting us to be in this fall and winter, we do have a chance for greater snow during those episodes," Angel said.
