House Speaker Michael Madigan has been holding weekly press conference as the General Assembly has been in "continuous session" this summer.

Illinois began its new fiscal year on July 1. But if you work for the state or rely on state services, there is no reason to celebrate.

Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner vetoed all of the budget bills lawmakers sent to his desk except funding for K-12 education.

With no budget in place, Democratic legislative leaders and the governor are pitching different plans to keep some operations going. I sat down with Sean Crawford to talk about the situation.
