Business Report: High Speed Rail Reaching Destination; Solar Installations and Home Sales Are Up

Dec 19, 2017

Sean Crawford talks with Tim Landis, Business Editor for the State Journal-Register.

* High Speed Rail: Nearly $2 billion project finishing up in central Illinois; 90 mph service in summer 2018, but 110 mph not until 2019 if they figure out the Positive Train Control.

* Solar installations: More than triple on CWLP system this year, mainly thanks to Target and engineering firm  Crawford, Murphy & Tilly.  Federal state tax credits and lower installation costs apparently played a role.

* Home sales: 2017 pulled ahead of 2016 thanks to double digit increase in November; Realtors scratching their heads a bit, though maybe federal tax reform a factor as it could reduce mortgage, property tax deductions,  etc.
