Business Report: Directing Springfield Tourists; Pillsbury Plant Cleanup Underway

This week:

* Which way did they go? Effort led by Downtown Springfield Inc. to get more consistent directional-information signage in the historic district. The idea is to get tourists to move around among the Lincoln sites, shops.

* Pillsbury cleanup is underway.  Asbestos removal expected to be finished this year. Future of property is unknown.  

*DHS-Barney's Furniture - The Illinois Department of Human Services is moving into former Barney's Furniture space on South Grand Avenue East. The facility will be a records storage warehouse. Only 5 employees involved but fills a vacancy for the area.
