Bus Accident In NE Missouri Injures Students

city-data

Authorities in northeast Missouri say a school bus accident has injured nearly two dozen students.

The accident happened around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday north of Ewing in Lewis County.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Lt. Brian Anderson says the bus rolled over into a ditch. Anderson says 18 students suffered minor injuries and five were more seriously hurt.

The trooper says, ``We're praying that everybody is going to be OK, but we do have some serious injuries.''
The condition of the driver wasn't immediately known. No other vehicles were involved.
Ewing is located about 125 miles northwest of St. Louis.

A Blessing Hospital spokesman tells the Quincy Herald-Whig ( bit.ly/1pJUfAo ) that the Illinois hospital is treating 11 children.  The hospital is also treating an unknown number of students brought there by car.
